The Ember electric pipe by Dip Devices is a handheld electronic smoking device that ignites real flower with an electric heating element instead of a flame. Pack the chamber, press the button, and the element climbs to combustion temperature — no lighter, no torch, no butane. It's the pocket version of the same idea behind our Nova electric bong, built for the times you're nowhere near a table.

True Combustion — Not a Dry Herb Vaporizer

Ember is not a vaporizer, and that distinction is the whole point. A dry herb vaporizer heats flower below the burn point and gives you vapor. Ember is a true electric pipe — what early adopters are calling an e-pipe or eburn device — that takes your bowl past combustion for genuine smoke and genuine flavor. If you've tried vapes and keep going back to a bowl, this was built for you. If you actually want vapor, our Aster dry herb vaporizer is the right device instead.

Wind Can't Blow Out What Never Lit

There is no flame on this device, so there is nothing for wind to extinguish. That single design fact is why a flameless pipe works where a lighter simply doesn't: on a boat, on a ridgeline, on a chairlift, on a beach, in the bed of a truck with the wind moving. The sealed anodized aluminium body also shrugs off rain, spray and splashes. It is not submersible and we don't publish an IP rating — but weather that ends a lighter session doesn't end this one.

Ember Electric Pipe FAQ

Is Ember a vaporizer?
No. Ember is a true-combustion electric pipe: it burns dry herb and produces real smoke. Vaporizers produce vapor, which is a different experience entirely.

Do I need a lighter or torch?
Never. The rechargeable electric element is the only heat source.

Does it really work in the wind?
Yes. There is no flame to blow out. The element is powered and sealed inside the body, so a breeze has nothing to interrupt.

Can I get it wet?
The sealed anodized body resists rain, spray and splashes, and there's no fuel reservoir to flood. It is not submersible, and we don't publish an IP rating — don't drop it in the lake.

How does it charge?
Over USB-C, from any standard wall adapter, laptop, or power bank.

How do I clean it?
Clear the heating chamber regularly with the included tool and wipe the body down. Don't submerge it.
